The objectives and activities of the Association are defined in its articles as follows:

Objectives:
The Association aims to advance the study and development of technical skills of medical laboratory technologists, as well as to improve health care and public health, thereby contribute to maintenance and improvement of the health of the Japanese nation.

Activities:

1.	Hosting conferences
2.	Study and training for medical laboratory tests
3.	Surveying the current status of testing and laboratory technologists
4.	Quality control of laboratory tests
5.	Interchange between JAMT and other related organizations
6.	Free job offer service for laboratory technologists
7.	Publication of Journal, Bulletin, Books, and other related matter of the Association.
8.	Other necessary activities for achievement of the Association objectives.
